User Experience
Built around the person actually using it
Our renewed focus in 2026 is simple: every screen starts from the user — not our dashboard, not our org chart.
MilitaryCarLot is being rebuilt around a service member on a phone, on a PCS clock, looking for a vehicle at their base — and the same standard now shapes CampusCarLot and MilitaryCarDealers.
That means search every base at once by ZIP and distance instead of hunting base by base, filters that match how people really shop, base pages with verified local information, and listings that load clean and read easy on any device. If a change doesn’t help a buyer find a vehicle faster — or a seller sell one with less friction — it doesn’t ship.
“Buyer-first, phone-first. If it doesn’t make finding or selling a vehicle faster at your base, it doesn’t ship.”
Our product rule for 2026
1. Phone-first, always
Most of our users are on a phone between duties, moves, and family life. We design for that screen first — larger tap targets, readable cards, and no wasted steps — then scale up to tablet and desktop.
2. Search the way people shop
ZIP-and-radius search across every base at once, with distance labels, year range, and min/max miles. Features buyers asked for — including ideas from longtime users — built and shipped, not filed away.
3. Local, verified, and private
Every base page carries checked resale-lot hours, rules, and contacts. Seller street addresses stay private. Photos display the right way round. Trust is part of the experience, not an afterthought.
4. Tested before it ships
We check every change on phone and tablet before it goes live — layout, filters, forms, and listings — because our users don’t get a second first impression during a move.
